Star of ‘12 Years a Slave’ may take on voice acting

Oscar-nominated star of ‘12 Years a Slave’, Chiwetel Ejiofor, is in talks to voice a character in a redo of Disney’s ‘The Lion King’.

Oscar-nominated star of ‘12 Years a Slave’, Chiwetel Ejiofor, is in talks to voice a character in a reimagining of animated classic 'Lion King'.

The US actor of Nigerian descent is likely to take on a villainous role in a reboot of the Disney classic.

Previously announced voice cast includes Donald Glover voicing Simba, the young lion to be king as well as James Earl Jones taking on the voice acting role for his father, Mufasa.

Jon Favreau is at the helm of the live-action animated film set for release on July 19, 2019.

Chiwetel Ejiofor was nominated for an Oscar for his leading role in ‘12 Years a Slave’.

The Lion King is a 1994 American animated musical film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation for Walt Disney Pictures.
